Ipswich Visitor's Center


 

The Ipswich Visitor's Center is located in the Historic Hall-Haskell House,

36 South Main Street, next door to the Old Ipswich Town Hall.

The Center is open 7 days a week from Memorial Day thru October.

During May , the Center is open on weekends only.  The Center is closed from Nov. thru April.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sundays Noon - 5:00 PM

 

The Ipswich Visitor's Center provides information about Ipswich and the Cape Ann area.

Throughout the Summer, the Center sponsors Art Exhibitions of local artists.

The Center promotes the activities of the Ipswich Historical Society and other groups, as

well as events in neighboring towns of Wenham, Hamilton, Topsfield, Rowley and Boxford

 

During the Summer, on weekends, a Shuttle Bus transports visitors from the Ipswich Train Station to the Visitor's Center, Wolf Hollow, Russell Orchards, Crane Beach, Appleton Farms and Essex.

 

Shuttle Bus Schedule

 

From June 20 thru Sept. 7, 2009 the Bus operates on weekends and holidays.

The Bus meets arriving visitors at the Ipswich Train Station at 10:19 AM, 12:19 PM, and 2:19 PM

The Bus returns visitors for departing trains at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

The cost for the ride is $5.00 (round trip and entrance to Crane Beach).

 

 

When visiting Ipswich, be sure to come to the Visitor's Center, and while there

Ipswich Opens Its Doors

 

Saturday, October 17, 2009 (rain or shine) 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

 

An eclectic tour of ten of Ipswich's most fascinating homes.

Some are new, some are old and some are in between. You pick what you wish to visit.

Tickets will be available the first of September at the Institution for Savings (Ipswich), Ipswich Shellfish Fish Market, Ipswich Visitor Center or on line at Essex National Heritage.

 

A map and information on the houses will be available the day of the tour at the Ipswich Visitor Center, 36 S. Main St. Tickets from on line purchases will be picked up that day at the Visitor Center

Tickets cost $25.

No children under 10/years. No cameras, backpacks, food or packages allowed in the private homes.

 

This event benefits the Ipswich Visitor Center.
